Plans and executes strategies to recruit international students (graduate and undergraduate). Work with Enrollment Management to communicate and follow up with prospective students via phone, written correspondence, and social media from application to admission and advise incoming and current students. Represents the university at college/ recruiting fairs abroad and in the US and initiates contact for ISS visits to foreign high schools.; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate
Responsibilities: 30% Recruits prospective international students by attending international recruiting fairs, visiting foreign high schools and universities; seeking new opportunities with educational agencies and foreign cultural missions; communicating with international partners to create and sustain the partnerships; visiting community colleges to recruit international transfer students.
25% Creates and participates in online seminars, webinars, and live chats to promote the international student experience at Tarleton to prospective international students; utilizing social media.
20% Provides ongoing assistance to students throughout the international admissions process. Assists in advising current students as needed. Maintains a database of prospective international students and alumni to facilitate effective, frequent communication that leads to enrollment and retention of international students.
10% Works closely with the Director of School Relations to identify potential recruiting markets for the recruitment of international students, develops recruiting strategies to reach these markets, and creates marketing plans to implement these strategies. Assists in developing and delivering electronic and paper-based international student recruiting materials. Provides guidance to programs who wish to recruit abroad.
10% Informs the Director of School Relations of the progress of ongoing responsibilities by monitoring and maintaining accurate records of international student contacts and preparing reports concerning recruitment and admissions activities in the International Programs area.
5% Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. One year of experience with marketing, public relations, international programs or experience in a related field
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Knowledge of student information systems, degree planning, and degree audits. Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Required Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses: Must have a current valid drivers license.
Other Requirements: Must maintain eligibility to travel abroad.
Oral proficiency in a foreign language and recruiting in a University setting is preferred.
