As a member of Undergraduate Admissions, the Associate Director of Outreach and Recruitment is a critical member of undergraduate recruitment at The Ohio State University providing leadership and strategic direction for new first year and transfer student outreach and recruitment; the Associate Director focuses on strategically setting short and long range recruitment planning goals with the Director to ensure that the enrollment goals are met annually; aligning recruitment metrics with Undergraduate Admissions metrics to achieve projected and targeted enrollment goals for admitted students; providing senior leadership for domestic and international territory management/admissions counseling, and high school relations; managing the personnel and operational budgets of these areas; collaborating with outreach and recruitment leadership in the areas of access and diversity, non-resident recruitment, and visits and events to support enrollment goals for the office; responsible for effective leadership and direction of team; provides vision, appropriate challenge and support to staff, enabling others to act; establishes objectives, standards, and requirements that align with the vision of the university and unit; directs the performance management process, including goal setting, coaching, feedback and managing accountability and productivity; oversees implementation and continued enhancement of short-range and long-term outreach and recruitment programs and activities to support university enrollment and retention goals; cultivates relationships to promote and advance university goals and programming related to outreach and recruitment; works collaboratively on the development of recruitment strategies and tactics, marketing messages, and initiatives; provides representation on behalf of Undergraduate Admissions on university committees related to College Credit Plus program; coordinates outreach efforts with Ohio State's four regional campuses and the Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI); plans and directs budgeting and expenditure processes; implements and advises on fiscal policies; reads applications through our holistic application review process; participates as an active member of Undergraduate Admissions through membership on committees; assists office during events and other times throughout the year; conducts special projects and other duties as assigned; evening and weekend hours required.
Required: Master's Level Degree or equivalent educ/exp required; 5-10 years of experience in higher education, recruitment, marketing and/or public relations required; supervisory experience required; demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications required; requires successful completion of a background check.
Desired: Experience with computer systems and training desired; experience with higher education marketing consultant's concepts desired; experience with enrollment management concepts desired.
