Seeking a fast-paced, proactive, creative person with superior oral and written communication skills as well as excellent organizational abilities. The Director of Communications is responsible for the execution of communication strategies that influence enrollment and giving, and elevate the brand. A member of the Marketing and Communications Department, this position will report to the Director of Marketing. The position will also work closely with the Advancement Office and the Office of the President to advance the college’s mission and strategic initiatives.
Work in collaboration with the Marketing Director to develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy to key audiences, including but not limited to prospective students, applicants, alumni, donors, faculty, students, staff and the media.
Responsible for managing the digital presence of the college through social media, the online magazine (Rapport), and web content.
Create assets through graphics, video snippets, and written content to tell the College’s stories, promote and cover events, draw attention to newsworthy behavioral health topics, and highlight individuals including alumni, students, faculty, and presenters/guests.
Collaborate with the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications to produce a monthly podcast, videos and any media production. Deliverables include a strategy including a monthly calendar, questions and selection of guests. Disseminate podcasts and other multi-media productions through digital channels.
Serve as an editor/proofer for the Department of Marketing and Communications, Advancement Office, and Office of the President.
Develop and write marketing materials for academic programs, college services and centers, etc. Support the promotion of all academic programs. Play an integral role in meeting enrollment targets.
Provide communications assistance to support Advancement events and activities including web and social media content development, materials to support relationship management, and attendee stewardship.
Manage and execute special projects as needed, including but not limited to special events, the launch of new programs, niche marketing to support community engagement department, and other new business initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years’ experience in a marketing, communications, or fundraising position; Master’s degree and higher education experience preferred
Attention to detail, excellent proofreading skills, grasp of grammar, and punctuation and able to exhibit a consistent style
Comfortable with design software for the creation of flyers and other marketing materials
Ability to be flexible and work collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment
Ability to be proactive
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong commitment to customer service;
Knowledge of HubSpot, a plus
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Attendance at evening and weekend events on occasion.
