For over 35 years, PACT: Helping Children with Special Needs, an independent affiliate of the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland, has provided high quality specialized child care and family support to young children and their families along with consultation, research and training to hundreds of professionals each year both locally and nationally. Kennedy Krieger Institute is internationally recognized institution for it's dedication to improving the lives of children and young adults with pediatric developmental disabilities and disorders of the brain, spinal cord and musculoskeletal system, through patient care, special education, research, and professional training. PACT, a $3 million organization, provides two unique child care /Early Head Start centers: World of Care, the region's only child care center staffed with nurses, therapists and experienced child care staff for children who are medically-fragile and/or developmentally disabled; and the Therapeutic Nursery, Baltimore City's only Early Head Start and child care center for homeless infants and toddlers and their families. The Nursery is focused on strengthening parent child attachment through a number of evidence based infant mental health interventions. PACT serves families from throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan Area.
The Director of Development functions as a member of the PACT management team and is responsible for agency fundraising, publications, public relations, and marketing.
Responsible for developing and implementing annual and capital fundraising activities for PACT, including proposal preparation and fundraising initiatives for specific programs and projects.
Assists Executive Director in cultivating, soliciting and acknowledging individual, corporate and foundation donors.
Responsible for the training and supervision of PACT Development Coordinator.
Work closely with PACT’s Board of Directors and staff Board subcommittees
Responsible for marketing and public relations including newsletters and other publications, as needed. Assists in the production of audio-visual projects.
Responsible for maintaining donor database, acknowledging donations, and producing contribution reports.
Responsible for coordinating and/or participating in agency special events.
Responsible for ensuring that Development Office staff actively promote PACT’s name in the community through participation in and/or coordination of speaking events, exhibits at fairs and conferences, and other opportunities for dissemination of information.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Must have a minimum of five years experience in the field of development
