The School of Professional Studies is seeking an Assistant Manager of Facilties Administration to supervise and manage day-to-day operations at a SPS occupied facilities to ensure that all spaces are ready to support academic and administrative functions. Ensure that the facility standards for customer service, safety and maintenance are met. Serve as liaison between various NYU departments such as Facilities & Construction Management, NYU Shops, NYU ITS. NYU Division of Public Safety, vendor provided security and cleaning personnel to ensure timely delivery and quality of services. Assist with renovation and construction projects and the administration of building maintenance services; assist with strategic planning and analysis of SPS property utilization needs.
Please note the normal work shift for this position is evenings and weekends but must be flexible to work during non scheduled hours as required.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Education: Certification or training in AV systems, Facility Administration
Required Experience: Min 2 years relevant experience including management of space/facility, and/or related services, a high level of customer service and staff supervision or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 3 - 5 years relevant experience in an academic facilities administration including managing renovation and construction projects and administering budgets.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organization, interpersonal, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate policies and procedures to individuals at all levels. Familiarity with building management systems and construction technology (e.g. CAD). Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Working knowledge of latest technologies used in classroom and conference rooms such as AV systems, video conferencing, telecom systems and their operations. Ability to track and manage multiple move initiatives within the facility.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with OSHA standards and guidelines.
