TheNational Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is seeking an Intern to support the Policy & Government Relations Division. The NAM offers a variety of challenging and rewarding internships in our Washington, D.C. headquarters. Internships are designed to support academic objectives with real life work experience. Internships at the NAM challenge students to enhance their business skills, critical thinking abilities, and communication skills.

Provide administrative and project support to specific teams within the NAM’s Policy & Government Relations Division
Perform a range of duties, including monitor federal legislation, attend congressional hearings, draft briefing materials and research various issues
Help prepare reports on congressional and federal regulatory activity
Assist with event planning and implementation, including large fly-ins such as the NAM’s annual Manufacturing Summit
Coordinate the logistics and execution of a group community service project
We are looking for Interns who meet the Following Criteria:
Outstanding academic record
Two references, preferably from academic advisor or faculty member of school attending
Possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills necessary to work well with NAM employees at all levels
Excellent critical thinking, writing and analytical skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines
Possess a careful attention to detail and ability to maintain information in the strictest of confidence
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint proficiency
Overall interest in federal policy and basic knowledge of how legislation gets passed within the U.S. Congress
Prior experience in a professional setting is preferred but not required
