Develop, execute, and coordinate strategic marketing communication plans and support stakeholder relations for OEA and ESP programs of the Wright State Research Institute. Responsible for executing events, communication strategy, and social media messaging. Develop public communication tactics in support of strategies, including messaging, content, and social media/email planning.
Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
3 years of experience in marketing communications, communications and/or public relations, economic development or entrepreneurial development activities .
Event or project management experience
Excellent communication skills including: superior verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Task-oriented: Ability to execute a project on deadlines with minimal direction.
Organized with ability to balance the execution and promotion of monthly, annual, and one-time events.
Demonstrated social media experience using applications such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MailChimp and WordPress.
Experience developing strong relationships with a variety of people in the local startup community and vendors.
Essential Functions and percent of time::
50% Dayton Tech Guide Event Management: - Lead or support the coordination and execution of Dayton Tech Guide events - Oversees and/or executes marketing communications to support Dayton Tech Guide events. - Effectively utilizes a comprehensive array of communications channels such as media relations, web, digital and social media, advertising, community relations, special events, sponsorships, and community collaborations to promote and grow Dayton Tech Guide events. - Under minimal supervision, responsible for creating and implementing marketing communications strategic plans; develops appropriate brand messaging and positioning strategies. - Ensures that all materials are consistent with approved branding. -Negotiates contracts with outside vendors for provision of services to support marketing plans and events. - A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in finding creative ways to talk about, interact with, and educate markets about Dayton Tech Guide services. - Overall production of special events, setting and managing calendars, choosing and managing advertising plans across a variety of media, including media buys, may produce presentations and other creative print media based on content prepared by professional staff, .
30% Execute Communication Strategies: - Understand the communication strategy and target audience of campaigns and develops targeted messaging. Executes the program’s public relations policies, objectives, and initiatives. - Ensures that all external and internal communications result in positive public relations. - Maintains public goodwill towards the organization. - Represents Dayton Tech Guide, OEA, and ESP and/or its brands at university, community, and industry events. - Executes the development of marketing communications materials and media to support marketing plans, provides project management and direction for materials created by outside agencies and vendors
20% Social Media Management: - Responsible to monitor and engage in brand related social media conversations
