Under the supervision of the Director of Media Relations, the Lead Writer and Social Media Manager (Managing Assistant Director III) is responsible for managing content development and social media strategy to increase and enhance brand awareness of Kean University locally, nationally and internationally. The Lead Writer and Social Media Manager participates in the development of goals, policies and procedures for content development and social media marketing campaigns and strategies; and does related work as required. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience working in communications is required, including writing and editing stories for publication in print and digital formats. A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field and a minimum of three years of experience with digital communications, online marketing, public relations and/or social media is preferred. Candidate must have experience with various types of digital and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram, in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills.
