Housing Forward is seeking a Development & Communications Coordinator to facilitate the success and growth of the department’s goals by providing a range of support on all aspects of fundraising activities including database management, donor relations, event marketing and materials, and communications (print and digital). The successful candidate will have relevant experience and a demonstrated interest in joining a dynamic team to help strengthen and expand the development and communications capacity for Housing Forward. The Development and Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Development and Communications and will also work closely with the Development team and agency leadership.

Online/website content & management
Draft and manage production of agency communications content for a variety of platforms (print, web and social media)
Social Properties: help establish strategy and manage content on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and e-news (News 360)
Web Site: manage content, administer integration of web presence with Housing Forward’s social properties
Traditional Media: help establish strategy and prepare and manage content (news and photo releases, event postings), media relations to promote events and agency brand
Maintain regular updates of organization website, Facebook page, and related media
Create/submit media releases for events and news for editors and reporters
Maintain an updated PR/media contact list, field media inquiries, and coordinate press releases
Actively seek out and suggest opportunities for expanding and improving agency communications, marketing and public relations
Writing & Editing, & Design
Create content for and design all development related materials – annual report, agency fact sheet, corporate partnership brochure
Write and support the creation of clear, concise and compelling marketing messages
Draw, create, and develop new graphics including charts, infographics, and handouts
Maintain and design program marketing materials (e.g. street outreach cards, volunteer fliers, program posters and brochures)
Create Event Materials – design and/or work with designer to create compelling invitations, program books, handouts, etc.; manage cost-efficient production processes.
Ensure physical spaces and satellite office supports the brand and mission of HF
Develop and lead creative projects including installation of photography and other major design projects as needed.
Videography experience and capability to create promotional materials and local storytelling for patients and marketing a plus.
Vendor management support, including placing orders for projects, generating quotes, and comparing quality and cost.
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Excellent interpersonal skills
Hours of Work
37.5 hours/week. Attendance at signature special events is required and may require evening/overnight or weekend work. This position requires the ability to provide own transportation.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; may be substituted by experience
2-3 years of experience in communications, marketing/PR. Non-profit experience a plus.
Graphic design experience
Prior experience writing/editing
Email platform experience
Social media experience to include scheduling and managing photos, artwork and video across platforms
Fundamental media relations skills to include drafting news releases, maintaining media lists, pitching media stories, working with reporters on story development
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word; Excel; PowerPoint) required
