Contract - Experienced
Assist supervisor in the flow of media projects for the Exhibitions Department. Ensure projects are prioritized and timely to meet deadlines. Liaison for inquiries from media, exhibitors regarding media at trade shows, etc. Distribution of press releases, running reports, upkeeping lists as well as media area on web sites. Some writing for social media, press releases, emails, etc. Provide project and administrative support to the Director – Industry Partnerships.
Primary Job Functions:
Maintain the internal production schedule/calendar (editorial, press conferences, events etc.) for the exhibitions media program and coordinate the flow of projects with appropriate representatives and/or consultants.
Keep all the media lists updated. Software program, web site key publications page, etc.
Monitor progress for projects to insure they are delivered by the deadline.
Initial point of contact for media outlets, exhibitors, and consultants.
Coordinate public relations program through software program. Work with media vendor, ensure releases are sent, provide tracking reports, maintain contact information, etc. (web analytics, press release analytics, etc.).
Draft press releases, newsletter content, etc.
Conduct research to support PR planning.
Assist in organizing and execution of PR events, campaigns etc.
Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions.
Undertake general administrative and clerical duties
Maintain files, both paper and electronic, relative to the responsibilities of the position. Assist with maintenance and update of computer databases and spreadsheets relative to the responsibilities of the position.
Administer activities relative to job function in the implementation of AMT’s strategic plan.
Perform other duties, as assigned.
Respond to questions and inquiries from media, exhibitors, members and other organizations and companies relative to the responsibilities of the position.
Consult and confer with association staff on projects and work processes for which the position is responsible.
Communicate and share progress on work processes and projects with supervisor and other members of departmental staff.
Communicate with members and third parties on a regular basis relative to projects and assignments.
Job Responsibility and Job Complexity:
Has no supervisory responsibility but has some, but not considerable, influence on and guidance of the actions and operations of others inside and outside the Association;
Requires frequent judgment to interpret and carry out assigned work activities. As a result, it requires considerable problem solving to carry out work assignments;
Has some technical latitude to accomplish work assignments of self and/or others; work is generally reviewed in terms of work results.
