Develops, coordinates and implements a communications strategy for the Department of Pediatrics and the Child Study Center. Develops and writes a variety of communications for both external and internal audiences to enhance the department's visibility and reputation and to foster positive faculty, staff, and trainee relations. Must be a proficient writer/editor, capable of producing high-quality content for websites, newsletters, announcements, brochures and other media for a variety of audiences. Duties include: Collaborating with Pediatrics and Child Study Center leadership, faculty and staff to develop and manage forward-looking strategic communications to enhance departments' reputation and communicate its messages; Manages relationships with external media sources; using the School of Medicine's web publishing systems to publish to and update the YSM Pediatrics and Child Study Center websites, including events, news and general information; identifying, evaluating and solving website problems in collaboration with the school's communications team; evaluating web pages for accuracy and best practices, and leverages improvements available through the school's web publishing systems; interfacing with Yale Medicine editorial team on department/program content for the Yale Medicine website; ensuring accuracy and a consistent look and tone for all communications, including consistency with appropriate style guides and branding; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with medical school and university communications offices (i.e. YSM Office of Communications, Yale Office of Public Affairs and Communications) to collaborate, obtain support and advice, and ensure that all communications conform to YSM and University guidelines; evaluating analytics to make evidence-based decisions regarding content and site planning; supporting physician onboarding and network development.
