Florida Hospital Orlando seeks to hire an Executive Director Community Health & Impact who will embrace our mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ.
Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Florida Hospital Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Florida Hospital Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

The role of Community Impact is to improve overall health in the Tri-County area by creating and innovating better health and wellness for individuals and communities. The Executive Director for Community Health and Impact will engage other health care providers in the community to conduct community health assessments at a community-wide level as well as at a specific campus level. The Director will also collaborate with the individual Florida Hospital campus administrators, foundation boards, and community health experts to develop and implement a campus specific community health plan for each of the Florida Hospital campuses in the Tri-County. The role has responsibility for Volunteer Services both from the Florida Hospital employee based as well as from the community. These volunteers will serve in health projects of their own choosing either locally or overseas. The Executive Director will identify funding partners in the community to leverage Florida Hospital's CHiC financial commitment and create sustainability and a greater positive impact. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in understandable terms to all levels of staff
Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to develop philanthropy relationships, community and vendor partnerships to generate funds to sustain CHiC funded projects and create greater community impact.
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Relations or related field.
Master's degree in Business or Healthcare related field (Preferred)
Minimum of six years' experience in healthcare management, preferably in an acute care setting
Minimum of four years' experience management experience
Demonstrated management and administrative skills
Experience in building community health partnerships and programs
Previous community relations experience. (Preferred)
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

Represents Florida Hospital and collaborates with public and private community organizations and agencies to plan and implement programs to improve the health, wellness and quality of life of the community. Builds community relationships throughout the Tri-County area, develops relationships with Florida Hospital Foundation Board members and donors to engage them in community health improvement and volunteer opportunities. Promotes the value and strategies of Florida Hospital's community plan in local and state communities.
Responsible to implement CHiC vision and mandates to improve overall community health of Tri-County and address gaps through innovative health delivery pilots and partnerships with community organization. Provide leadership and coordination to CHiC Board, a committee of the Florida Hospital Board of Trustees.
Responsible for the strategic planning and operational performance of Community Impact and Volunteer Services including Community Health Impact Council (CHiC), Healthcare Reform Incubation/ Pilots, Community Benefits, Volunteer Services, Community Partnerships to improve Access to Care, Community Building Initiatives, Local Health Outreach Initiatives, , Campus and Business Unit Health Improvement Projects.
Responsible for strategy, direction of assessment, prioritizing health care gaps, developing the implementation plan and preparing published report.
Ensures Florida Hospital CHiC investments in community are maximized by leveraging funding commitments, partnership donations and in kind support for funded projects.
Provides oversight to grant writing to secure eternal funding for Florida Hospital community benefits and management of awarded grants Ensures the volunteer services department provides meaningful opportunities for community members to volunteer time at Florida Hospital as well as facilitating opportunities for Florida Hospital employees to improve their community by volunteerism in areas of need.
Facilitates the development and maintenance of information systems to record Florida Hospital community benefit and volunteer services activities.
Ensures compliance with federal mandated community health needs assessment which requires written strategic plans of each of the campuses based on community health needs assessment.
Responsible to engage campus administrators and service line administrators to develop and implement innovative models to improve health and wellness of their community. Collaborates with executive administration to improve access to health care and to develop incubator pilots. Collaborates with Adventist Health System regional hospitals and community organizations.
Receptive to the needs and concerns of all staff, physicians, volunteers and community representatives.
