The North American Meat Institute seeks a creative social media manager to support our industry communications efforts and build on our existing social media tools, running our day to day engagement on numerous platforms.
The Social Media Manager will be responsible for maintaining and executing the organization’s social media strategy to build awareness, increase followers and drive engagement on all of our social platforms. The manager will plan and run the day to day communications on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube and other relevant social media. They will be responsible for daily content and engagement on all platforms as well as tracking metrics and success of individual posts, specific projects and of the social media program as a whole. Social media monitoring will also be a key component to both remain informed on social conversations and trends, and also to seek opportunities for the organization to participate.
The manager will be responsible for seeking out opportunities and partnerships with other key social media influencers to increase awareness and attention to various projects and materials.
In addition, they will work closely with the rest of the public relations team on the development of various communications initiatives.
Assist in development and lead implementation of organization social media strategy with focus on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube and LinkedIn
Oversee content across social channels daily
Generate and maintain content calendar for all social channels
Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about the industry
Manage paid social media outreach
Assist with public affairs content development including weekly newsletter, press releases and other content.
Excellent written communication skills
Experience using a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube
Understanding of the best practices for different social media platforms
Ability to effectively drive engagement on different tools
Demonstrated ability to develop creative social communications
Comfort taking complex material and turning it into an effective social media post
Strong organization skills to post on a regular schedule, but also adaptability to meet changing communications needs
Ability to handle sudden deadlines and quick turnarounds
Knowledge of analytics to track success of various efforts
Understanding of paid promotion on different social platforms, Facebook and Twitter in particular
Experience with Photoshop and other image editing/creation tools strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field
Two years of experience as an active social media user within a company or association
Extensive experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn and YouTube
Use of social media scheduling and monitoring tools
