Belmont Day School seeks an experienced part-time HR professional to join its business team. The team supports the human resources, payroll, and benefits needs for its faculty and staff employees. The Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the Director of Finance and Head of the School in all personnel matters, executing the overall provision of HR operations, policies, and related programs for the school.
The Human Resources Generalist is a year-round 50 percent FTE position (20 hours per week) and is eligible for benefits in accordance with the school’s benefits policies. The position reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Administer benefits program, including enrollments, data management, vendor relations, bid processes, employee communication and education
Perform payroll system maintenance, on-boarding new employees, maintain payroll records, review payroll processing.
Coordinate recruitment efforts, on-boarding, training and educational opportunities
Maintain job descriptions and policies and procedures contained in the faculty and staff handbooks
Administer COBRA, FMLA, paid time off, ACA, and other regulatory compliance requirements
Keep abreast of new federal and state legislation and regulations to ensure school compliance
Assist Director of Finance with compliance with federal and state requirements
Respond to employee issues and conflict resolution matters
Perform additional responsibilities as required
The Human Resources Generalist should be a well-rounded HR professional with a wide array of experience in the field, including, but not limited to:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or equivalent
Five to seven years of progressive experience
Educational/academic setting experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills
Proficiency with technology
Experience with cloud-based HR software
Ongoing attendance at professional development workshops
