Drew University is accepting applications for the 12-month, full-time position of Director of Athletics Communications. This position has an anticipated start date of July 1, 2018.
The Director of Athletics Communications is responsible for the promotion and marketing of the 20 intercollegiate sports at Drew University. This individual is responsible for maintaining the Athletics Department website, reporting to the NCAA, Landmark and other affiliated conferences, managing game day operations for home events, keeping statistical and historical records for all sports, producing all Athletics Department publications and video content, organizing media relations pertaining to Athletics and conducting/supervising live broadcasts on the Drew Sports Network. In addition, this individual will run social media accounts, assist with branding and licensing and conduct promotional activities surrounding the Athletics Department and other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics and Vice President of Communications and Marketing.
The Director of Athletics Communications will coordinate media relations pertaining to Athletics, both internal and external to the University. This includes promoting Drew Athletics within the campus community, fielding media requests and pitching outside media for newspaper/television coverage pertaining to student-athletes. In addition, this individual will produce a biannual athletics newsletter.
The Director of Athletics Communications will be responsible for supervising student workers that assist with press box game day responsibilities and will also supervise an Athletics Communications intern.
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field of study required, masters degree preferred. At least three years experience in collegiate athletics communications is desirable.
