Advertised Summary Job Description: THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION WITH A TUESDAY-SATURDAY WORK WEEK SCHEDULE
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, the Assistant Director assists in coordinating the MBA admission process that meets targeted enrollment goals and enrolls a high-quality, diverse student body that enhances the reputation of the Columbia Business School.
1.Evaluate and recommend applicants: duties may include reading and evaluating applications and conducting interviews. Serves as a member of the Admissions Committee. 2.Promote and market MBA program: duties may include coordinating and delivering on and off-campus presentations, hosting receptions, and participating in other recruitment activities as determined by supervisor. 3.Assist with application processing: duties may include coordinating and scheduling interviews, verification of credentials of admitted candidates, responding to inquires, assigning and managing application reviews. 4.Coordinate and assist with events for special populations, such as women, under-represented minorities, international applicants, alumni, admitted applicants, etc. 5. Cultivate and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, current students, alumni and solicit their participation in said events. Duties may include assisting with event planning for select populations (Hermes, alumni interviewers, etc.) 6.Coordinate communication with Business School departments (Publications, Public Relations, and Computing and Information Services): duties may include activities related to advertising, publications, website, content management, PowerPoint presentation, etc. 7.Performs other relevant duties as needed and assigned.
General Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent degree required. A minimum of 2 years related experience required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication and computer skills required (proficiency with MS Office Suite). Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work evenings and weekends required. Candidate must possess strong skills in diplomacy, tact, and discretion. The ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities is an asset.
