The University Enrollment Specialist directly supports and assists Eastern Oregon University, and its ROI Centers, directors and staff in achieving established regional student enrollment goals. This position is responsible for achieving assigned self-generated enrollment inquiry goals, attending enrollment inquiry-generating events at regional centers and events across the state of Oregon (and potentially neighboring states), prioritizing enrollment inquiries originating from internal and external marketing initiatives including inquiry activity driven by regional centers, special projects (for example, transfer days), community events, business and industry fairs, search engine activity, and inquiry list purchases.
The University Enrollment Specialist spends significant time and effort developing and evaluating student enrollment inquiries, following up on inquiries generated from internal and external marketing initiatives, inquiry gap identification, supporting inquiry activity driven by regional centers and other sources. This position works closely with the Executive Director of ROI to identify and develop potential markets, strategic opportunities and supporting agreements.

Ability to communicate with those in business and industry and determine how best to interface with administration and HR concerning employee education development.
Work closely with key staff on issues related to inquiries and perceived barriers to enrollment, admission and program completion
Works with ROI team to develop and implement unit policies and procedures related to inquiry development, flow and documentation
Assists prospective students by providing accurate information regarding EOU admission policies, programs, tuition and fees. Assists with filling out contact information forms and can assist with application for admission.
Exercises good judgment and discretion when addressing questions from the public, students, and staff; determines appropriate referrals based on understanding of university, state, and federal policies
Make recommendations for improving service to EOU’s partners beyond our current geography
Coordinates activities and programs in support of unit strategies related to recruitment and retention of online and onsite students
Assist prospective students with admission processes, program planning, solving enrollment related problems
Develop inquiry generation via activities such as transfer days, meet and greets, fairs, community events, educational partnerships
Document inquiry generation and subsequent flow through use of campus systems, qualify inquiries, develop inquiry reports and identify gaps as well as solutions to close inquiry gaps
Maintain a strong, consistent working relationship with campus units
Participate in and contribute to unit meetings and trainings
Support ROI staff to best serve online/onsite students
Work closely with Executive Director to determine innovations and opportunities for inquiry pipelines.
Onsite Program Development/Recruitment: identify and recruit community college faculty as EOU adjuncts.
Work closely with the Executive Director and ROI staff to fulfill the mission and strategic plan of the ROI unit and University.
Bachelors degree required.
Minimum of three years experience required, preferably in enrollment development and management, in one or more related areas: higher education, adult education, online education, academic advising, business, industry, sales, marketing, or combination of areas.
Personal influencing and communication skills necessary to achieve assigned goals and objectives.
A current driver’s license and clean driving record.
Able and willing to perform routine work, travel, communication, problem solving, and all assigned duties independently, setting priorities and scheduling work in accordance with established and general timelines of the University’s enrollment strategy and planning parameters.
Enrollment recruiting, development and management experience in higher education.
Knowledge of regional student enrollment markets, market influencers, and higher education culture in Oregon.
