The Director of Enrollment Management is responsible for coordinating all aspects of enrollment, marketing, and flexible tuition (financial aid) for Rolling Hills Preparatory School (RHP) and Renaissance School, its on-campus sister school for bright students with learning challenges. The Director reports to the Head of School and works closely with other members of the administrative team, especially with the Director of Development, School Division Heads, Communications Manager, and the Board’s Marketing Committee.

About The Schools
Located on the eastern slopes of the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, with easy access to the beach communities, the City of Long Beach, and the cultural richness of Los Angeles, Rolling Hills Prep and Renaissance schools together comprise two independent schools, one vibrant community. The schools recently received seven- and six-year terms of re-accreditation from CAIS and WASC respectively, and the Board recently unveiled its Ten-Year Vision which maps out the curricular, enrollment, fundraising, and facility goals for the coming decade.
The position combines a need for planning and implementing systems with the need for creativity and relationship-building. The successful candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and analysis, the creativity to generate and implement new ideas, and strong relationship-building skills both inside and outside the school. Dynamic leadership and careful management are both required in equal measures. The ability to gather and analyze pertinent statistical data is important. Excellent communication skills are a must. The Office of Enrollment is supported by an Associate and a Communications Manager.
Our very diverse student population on campus includes the following cohorts:
Strong traditional learners.
Bright students with identified learning challenges such as ADHD, dyslexia, etc.
A small percentage (approximately 10%) of international students, mostly from Asian countries, who live with local homestay families.
Students attend the campus from more than 40 zip codes across Los Angeles, and from approximately a dozen different countries, generating a vibrant, multicultural educational climate.
Both schools focus on preparing students for success and fulfilment in a variety of selective colleges and universities. A quick glance at our college list will give the keen eye an instant read on our school’s “output.” We couch ourselves as balancing “rigor” with “soul,” an “academic powerhouse without being a pressure cooker.”
The schools have been growing in the past few years, primarily in the learning difference and international cohorts where demand for places is high. However, growth in the traditional-learner population has needed significant financial aid allocations to increase and maintain numbers, and we must now concentrate very proactively on bolstering that population with more full-pay families in an area of Los Angeles where public schools are regarded as generally strong. The Board aims to grow the school from an aggregate 280 to 350 over the next five years without significantly increasing (gradually reducing) the percentage of gross tuition revenue allocated to financial aid (currently 30%).
Qualification Requirements • A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred • Five to seven years of experience in education in admissions • Ability to think critically and creatively • Proven success in a senior administrative role, preferably working with a board • Demonstrated leadership qualities • The ability to work collaboratively with other school community members • Outstanding oral and written communication skills • Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
This position will require the successful candidate to quickly learn about, understand, and energetically articulate the mission and strengths of both schools. The successful candidate will demonstrate successful prior experience in the areas of school or college admission, marketing, communications, or public relations. He/she will combine high energy and very strong communication skills with a passion and love for networking, both internally and externally, and a meticulous eye for detail.
The position requires some limited international travel.
Qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.
