What you will do: Oversee a diverse team of health communications, video and social media, working together proactively to meet the dynamic needs of our varied audiences. Manage communications and marketing projects to advance the goals of department programs and services. Advise leadership, create, develop, and implement strategic communications and modalities best suited to the target audience. Lead organizational readiness efforts to ensure timely response to crisis and public health emergencies. Keep up to date on college health issues at the state and federal levels.
What you will need: Advanced knowledge and understanding of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications. Thorough understanding of technical applications to direct professional technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications. Advanced skills to create, develop, and implement long and short term strategic communication plans. Advanced ability to advise and consult management on all aspects of communications, ranging from developing effective communication strategies to appropriately responding to inquiries regarding sensitive or complex issues or information. Ability to work in a collaborative manner, and lead and influence others on matters of significance. Knowledge of the organization, including its mission, vision, goals, policies, and infrastructure; strong knowledge of current affairs and issues in higher education and college health. Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy Rule and California state laws regulating privacy and confidentiality of health information Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills. Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
The Public Relations and Communications Manager is a 100% FTE career appointment. Annual salary up to $117,800 and is commensurate with experience. Includes a highly competitive benefits package.
