Harvard Public Affairs & Communications (HPAC) is seeking a capable, flexible multimedia producer/editor who can manage pre-production, planning, logistics, filming, editing, audio, and posting of the video products in support of University initiatives/priorities, Harvard Gazette stories, and other assigned projects.
We are seeking an established video professional with both creative storytelling capabilities, and strong editing and technical skills. The Multimedia Producer will help in the development, improvement, and/or maintenance of multimedia projects in various formats, and other efforts of HPAC.
The ideal candidate has a strong desire to work on a team of creative professionals and partner on compelling creative solutions. This person will be organized and proactive, and excellent attention to detail. Candidates must provide demo reels and/or online portfolios that showcase the full range of skills.
Work independently and as a member of a production team on pre-production, planning, logistics, filming, editing, audio, and posting of video products
Work with video editors, Executive Producer, Creative Director, or other stakeholders during all phases of production
Be able to both self-generate creative projects and work with restrictions to meet very specific client needs
Work with photographers, graphic designers, writers and communications offers to integrate multimedia deliverables into University communications, including Harvard.edu, the Harvard Gazette, and the university's social channels
Edit video, audio, and related media for presentations
Contribute to efforts to make multimedia content social media-friendly; embrace new technology and formats to help communications reach new audiences
Act as technical liaison to other University departments and external vendors
Assist in maintaining/archiving our digital media library

Minimum of 5 years of experience with motion graphics and video editing
Bachelor's degree in Multimedia/Visual Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Marketing, or related field (preferred)
Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects required
Strong understanding of fundamental design skills (color, typography, composition)
Experience with audio editing and color correction
Comfortable being on the set of a video shoot and providing and taking direction
Ability to quickly execute concepts under tight timelines
Experience with both DSLR cameras and professional film cameras
Experience with 360 storytelling
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CC applications
Must be able to work multiple projects and complete high-quality work against strict and conflicting deadlines that are dictated by clients and management
Excellent content judgment
Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, verbal and telephone skills
A positive, collegial attitude and a high level of professionalism are essential
Experience with the organization and archiving of raw and edited video files
Openness to experimentation and new storytelling formats
