This person will be situated in the Office of Communications and will support on-campus and external communications for the Office of the Vice Provost. The portfolio includes activities relating to: diversity and inclusion, faculty development, and chair development. It includes focus areas such as professorship programs and special initiatives. This person will be charged with developing a communications plan that will capture the spirit and values of the University of Chicago's tradition of free expression, inquiry and diversity as described in the diversity and inclusion initiative. This person will have many job responsibilities with a heavy emphasis on developing and implementing a communications plan to support the campus-wide diversity and inclusion initiative and a plan for the Neubauer Family Assistant Professor Program. Responsibilities- Develop and implement a multichannel, multimedia communications strategy to support the diversity and inclusion initiative, the Neubauer Family Assistant Professor Program, and the faculty development program- Work closely with campus entities such as the Office of Communications, UChicago Creative, the Center for Identity and Inclusion and others to plan and implement strategy- Maintain an active social media presence for these core programs and the diversity and inclusion initiatives broadly speaking- Foster cross campus relationships and develop internal communications plan- Collaborate with marketing professionals to produce copy for advertisements or articles- Assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership- Work on a variety of committees/teams and with a diverse array of colleagues and partners- Support the Academic Leadership, Advancement, and Diversity team in planning a variety of major university events- Create an active listserv to convey diversity and inclusion activities
