Tufts University Public Relations (based on three Massachusetts campuses in Medford-Somerville, Boston and Grafton) communicates the excellence of Tufts University, its schools, faculty, students, and accomplishments to the public via the news media.
The department is looking to fill 2 new Public Relations Staff Assistant part-time positions supporting the day-to-day responsibilities of the public relations team. You will assist in the tracking, monitoring and reporting of media coverage for Tufts and competitor schools and will produce a daily news digest of Tufts news. You will also assist with special projects and provide general administrative support as necessary. The position will require approximately 12 hours each week. After an adequate onsite training period, it is possible for this position to become a telecommuting position.
Bachelor's degree in related area of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
0-1 year communications experience.
Previous experience with Meltwater or similar media monitoring platforms and services is preferred.
Familiarity working with Excel is helpful but not required.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Part time, 12 hours per week.
