Welcome to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Saint Joseph Hospital Cardiac & Vascular Institute, better known simply as the Cath Lab. Approximately 2,500 procedures are performed each year in our Cath Lab, making ours one of the busiest Cath Labs in Colorado.
We are seeking RNs with Cath Lab experience, or ED or ICU experience.
Call equals 10 days per month including a full weekend of call.
30 minute call back required for call.
The Cath Lab has five state-of-the-art procedure rooms for performing numerous heart and vessel imaging studies and treatments. In the Cath Lab, highly trained specialists identify and diagnose heart problems, use medicines to dissolve blood clots, re-open blood vessels, and remove obstructions within blood vessels.
Within the Cath Lab is our specialized Electrophysiology Lab (EP). Here patients experiencing irregular heart rates (arrhythmias) can undergo diagnostic exams to identify the specific cause of the problem or to receive life-saving treatments such as pacemaker or defibrillator implants.
We have 2 cath labs, 3 EP labs, 2 hybrid labs, 1 multipurpose room, 3 IR suites.
We are an accredited chest pain center with strong STEMI program.
Our labs perform all forms of cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures; diagnose and treat all forms of cardiovascular disease including balloons, stents, rhythm management, peripheral vascular and structural heart. We work in teams of 3. These teams consist of cardiovascular technologist, radiologic technologist and RN's

RN Charge - RN Supervisor
This position has responsibility for the management of patient care provided by department personnel. The incumbent assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of the departmental patients in order to ensure that patients and families receive an optimum level of care.
Provide clinical support and act as a resource to nursing staff in order to provide optimal patient care.
Ensure continuity of appropriate patient care by planning staff assignments, providing direct patient care, and evaluating outcome of patient care.
Promote positive public relations and act as a liaison with patients, physicians, significant others, visitors and staff in ancillary departments.
Participate in performance improvement activities.
Participate in the selection, training, development and evaluation of subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with Human Resources policies and organization philosophy.
Contribute to the development of nursing staff by identifying learning needs and assisting in meeting these needs.
Utilize manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and effect productivity.
Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served within the unit.

High School diploma or equivalent, required
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required
Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of CO, required
Three (3) years of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department, required
