Serves as an interpreter and translator for safety training materials from English to Spanish and conducts training classes for Spanish speaking adult learners. This position is responsible for listening to, understanding, and translating spoken and/or written statements from one language to another, and communicating with potential clients to schedule training classes.
- Bachelor's degree in English or Spanish Languages, Communications, Public Relations, or related degree or equivalent training and/or experience. - Previous demonstrated experience in interpreting and translating, and facilitating and teaching classes. - Demonstrated knowledge and proficient fluency in academic and colloquial languages of the Spanish and English languages. - Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, calendar managers (Outlook), and audio/visual components. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills. - Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish and English Languages; relay the style and tone of the original language; and render spoken messages accurately, quickly, and clearly. - Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy with minimal direction or supervision; exercise initiative; and maintain confidentiality. - Ability to safely move and handle up to 30 pounds of class materials and drive a vehicle safely. - Must have valid Driver's license with a satisfactory driving record required. - Ability to travel throughout Virginia and will have one to two overnight stays about 3 times per month.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.
