Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Content Strategy, the Digital Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining online web and social media content for Harvard's university-wide digital properties, including content for Harvard's flagship @Harvard social media accounts, harvard.edu, and associated sites.
The Digital Communications Coordinator role will work under the direction of the content strategy team to leverage web content and social media best practices and create and improve team standards and processes.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Create and maintain content for Harvard University's associated web properties and flagship @Harvard social media accounts
Establish, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines, and schedules to ensure content remains up-to-date and is continually refreshed on Harvard University web properties
Ensure consistency and excellence in web content quality by documenting and enforcing best practices
Ensure optimal use of Drupal content management system and social media management tools
Work under the direction of the content strategy team to update and review content editorial calendar for web and social media channels
Maintain content aggregated by Harvard's university-wide web properties and social media accounts
Working with Digital Analytics Lead, monitor and report on content performance to ensure continuous improvement
With the guidance of the Senior Associate Director of Content Strategy, communicate effectively internally about web content and social media editorial strategy and results
Monitor relevant online conversation and review incoming email for website feedback and questions
The position will work closely with the Senior Associate Director of Digital Content Strategy to maintain digital communications efforts around key university-wide initiatives. In coordination with the Senior Associate Director of Digital Content Strategy, the Digital Communications Coordinator will drive continuous improvements of the websites and use of social media tools. As part of this role the position curates content delivered by a wide variety of stakeholders to the website and develops new content pathways for existing websites and social media tools. Key responsibilities are to ensure daily updates to the site(s) and develop new content and digital tools/products in response to customer needs.

Bachelor's degree in related field
Position requires demonstrated knowledge of web technologies and experience maintaining web content management systems
Knowledge of social media channels, and other digital tools
2+ years of relevant experience preferred
Experience with social media management and reporting tools, including Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, work independently and in collaboration with team members, and oversee work of others
Strong visual communication skills
