The University of Chicago Press seeks a talented and committed acquisitions editor to assume responsibility for the Press's science list. The editor will oversee and evolve an established program focused on the life sciences (among them ecology, evolution, animal behavior, botany, marine biology, and natural history), and publish 15-25 titles a year, including trade, scholarly, course, and reference books. Working from the Press's offices at the University's Hyde Park campus, the editor will collaborate closely with other Press departments to manage projects throughout their lifecycle. The position is open with respect to rank, from associate to senior editor. The Press welcomes applications from experienced or early-career editors with a passion for the sciences, as well as from professionals and journalists in the field of science communication.
