Assists with the planning and implementation of a fundraising campaign and events for a specific functional area/college/campus. This position is also directly responsible for managing a portfolio of at least 150 gift prospects. Reports to designated supervisor.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: Coordinate and implement activities designed to increase prospect, alumni and donor engagement and secure philanthropic gifts in support of the functional area, college, or campus.
Assist supervisor in identifying prospective donors.
Manage a portfolio of assigned gift prospects.
Solicit assigned prospects for gifts. Conduct research to identify the priorities and needs of a specific functional area, college or campus.
Assist in the planning and development of special projects relative to the interests of prospects.
May assist with marketing efforts related to developing a culture of philanthropy and securing private gifts.
May develop promotional and public relations material, new media initiatives, and conduct special events to support fundraising efforts.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and three years fundraising and/or sales experience. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule with the ability to travel (which may include overnight stays), and to work nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in higher education fundraising.
