The Production Coordinator for Cinematic Arts helps oversee and monitor the department's long-term plans and accomplish important milestones along the way. This role involves setting timelines, organizing meetings, fulfilling deadlines, creating support materials, producing events, managing content systems, communicating and planning, anticipating needs, and overseeing student workers. The coordinator interacts daily with department faculty, staff, and students and provides necessary support for each. In addition, the coordinator produces many of our guest/industry events, workshops, conferences, and premiere showings.
Bachelor's degree in Cinema, Production or Communications related field or equivalent experience in relevant field.
One year of organizational management experience, preferably related to the business aspects of production.
Experience with film and university related regulations preferred.
Primary Duties/Essential Functions
Spearhead and track progress on multiple ongoing and new department initiatives, events, and programs.
Organize department communication for newsletter updates, advertising department events and programs, and liaising with multiple university departments (e.g., University Relations, College of Music and the Arts Dean's office, Student Recruitment, Alumni Relations, etc.).
Assist in content creation for promotional materials and public relations: invitations, announcements, posters, flyers, brochures, promotional cards, website updates, etc.
Help produce special events (e.g., First Mondays, Premiere Night, Century of Cinema, Pitch Tank) and launch new events and programs.
Participate in promotional actives including recruitment days and expos (e.g., CTN eXpo).
Provide support to faculty and production professors: managing and updating class websites, the Production Bible website, safety, legal, and insurance paperwork, and other projects as needed.
Oversee the Azusa Film Society student program and sponsored events (e.g., alumni workshops).
Collaborate with Safety Coordinator on updating safety regulations and the Safety Manual as needed.
Update department processes to industry and legal standards as needed.
Supervise and assign projects to student workers as needed.
Perform other duties related to the position as requested by the supervisor.
