Responsible for providing a variety of advancement/development duties including maintaining a database, donor correspondence, press release, media alerts, fundraising campaigns, design and production of various print materials, producing newsletters and brochures, gift processing and acknowledgements, personal calls with donors and prospects, scheduling meetings, event coordination and updating the Charitable Gift Planning web site and Facebook. Supports the Director of Charitable Gift Planning and other managers as necessary.
Supports the mission, vision, and core values of Fleet Landing.
Assures that Residents’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to register complaints, are followed.
Plans, coordinates and attends Fleet Landing special events and fundraising events.
Maintains confidential documents for the organization and Charitable Gift Planning Department. Adheres to rules of confidentiality at all times.
Develops and implements strategies for communications with the media, individuals, other organizations, donor correspondence, residents and families.
Maintains donor records and a database accordingly.
Researches, generates and distributes press releases to targeted media as needed. Makes appointments to cultivate media and build relationships with the media.
Writes acknowledgement letters and other correspondence as assigned.
Maintains and updates information on the Planned Giving web module and newsletter.
Plans, develops, and implements public relations strategies.
Assists with branding Fleet Landing in coordination with the Director of Charitable Gift Planning.
Supporting community outreach initiatives and projects.
Prepares and supervises the production of brochures, handouts, mailings, promotional videos, photographs, and newsletters.
Organizes events including press conferences, exhibitions, press tours and cultivation events.
Fosters community relations and attends community events as needed.
Follows all established safety procedures and precautions. Reports all unsafe/ hazardous conditions, and/ or defective equipment to Manager. Reports all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to Manager.
Schedules face to face meetings to build relationships with residents and donors.
Performs other duties as assigned by Director.
Possesses a genuine interest in caring for and serving older adults while participating as a team player. A self-motivated team-player who can energize and lead both staff and volunteers.
Light lifting up to 20 pounds, ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment.
REPORTING TO WORK:
Reports for work on time according to schedule and adheres to the Attendance Policy. Adheres to the Appearance Standard Policy and reports to work in appropriate attire or uniform while maintaining professional grooming standards.
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills. Must be computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office. Must be able to multi-task and be a self-starter. Ability and confidence to interact with varied constituents. Experience with event planning, fund raising, database management and electronic newsletters desirable.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a key fundraising position.
Three to five years of general office work experience. Experience in a fund raising position a plus.
This position reports to the Director of Charitable Gift Planning.
Sit, stands and walks intermittently during workday. Subject to frequent interruptions. Deals with public and personnel under all conditions.
