The Office of Communications and Marketing has overall responsibility for marketing and brand management, public relations and editorial services producing various print and web publications and communications for the University. The office optimizes the coordination of strategies and programs for these areas.
Oversees the team implementing the content strategy, design, development and maintenance of university-level Drupal websites managed by Communications and Marketing, including the Tufts.edu homepage and upper level, Tufts Now, Tufts Magazine and the Alumni & Friends site. The team is also responsible for managing and maintaining the Drupal platform for several school websites, as well as the JumboPress CMS supporting central administrative and non-school university-wide sites. The director supervises the web development and content strategy leads who are responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the university's web environment.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
Superior written and oral communications skills.
Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and high level concepts to developers.
10+ years of experience in a digital/development environment.
Literacy in web development technologies and best practices and experience in team web development processes.
5 years of management experience.
Intimate knowledge of the entire web site creation process from discovery to content strategy to design and development.
Not-for-profit or university setting experience.
Web development experience in a team environment.
