The Content Developer is a member of the Office of Donor and Alumni Communications team. This position creates and edits texts for fundraising campaigns to increase donor interest and participation in the university and its programs. The position creates editorial content targeted at donors of all levels: alumni donors, annual fund donors, leadership annual donors and individual and corporate major gift prospects. The Content Developer interfaces with University Communications staff as well as school-based communications professionals and freelancers to gather facts and disseminate messages throughout UB channels. He or she has in-depth knowledge of all schools and units across the university and is comfortable and competent writing for a variety of different mediums. The position requires superior persuasive writing and editing skills. The position reports to the Director of Content Development.
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, writing or related field
A minimum of two years of effective and relevant experience in persuasive writing and editing materials appropriate for higher education and donor audiences, including print, email, websites and social media
Experience working with project teams
Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and Adobe PDF editing tools
Successful track record of working effectively with colleagues of all levels.
