This position works with the Director of Digital Communications Strategy to support the university’s marketing efforts and strategic plan in three key areas:
Management of the university’s digital presence by providing content and web strategy expertise and best publishing practices to the web publishing community, and coordinating project management for digital initiatives.
Production of content for the public website and digital marketing campaigns that reinforce the brand and further marketing and strategic plans for the university, maintenance of information architecture across the digital ecosystem, and collaboration on social media efforts as needed.
Analysis of data from Google Analytics and other sources to audit content performance and provide insights that can inform strategic decisions regarding user experience and engagement across university web properties.
The manager’s responsibilities extend to all University Communications and Marketing (UCM)-managed sites. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of web accessibility guidelines and be adept at multi-channel, integrated digital marketing.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field or commensurate experience is required.
6-8 years of progressively responsible work-related experience in digital communications
Extensive knowledge of user experience, content strategy, and web publishing (HTML and CSS), digital marketing, SEM, lead generation, Google Analytics, and SEO
Working knowledge of web accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.0 and 508 Compliance)
Experience developing and maintaining information architecture and web standards
Eager, hard-working, proactive attitude; capable of making recommendations and creating strategic plans with little direction
Organized and detail driven
Working knowledge of social media platforms and social metrics tools (Hootsuite)
Working knowledge of graphic design
Creative, strategic thinker; capable of combining data analysis with novel approaches to solve problems and find new opportunities
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Proven ability to research, plan, manage, and analyze complex projects from start to finish
Knowledgeable, confident speaker and presenter
Experience in higher education, advertising, digital agency, consulting, or related brand-driven organizations is a plus
