Job Posting: Summary of Essential Job Duties: Job Summary: The Human Resources Business Partner provides strategic HR and talent support to designated leaders and employees in designated business units for within the Academic Enterprise, creating the desired workplace culture and an engaged and productive workforce through organization policies, programs and practices. The HRBP position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues and provides coaching and guidance on HR programs and initiatives. HRBP engages with Sr HRBP on moderate issues and with HR Centers of Excellence for subject matter expertise and advice. HRBP consults with management to address root causes of HR issues and to provide leadership in developing action plans. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, strategic plans, its culture and people. Utilizing processes and tools from the HR Centers of Excellence, HR Service Center, and with guidance from Sr HRBP, the HR Business Partner serves as a liaison between the line of business and HR to drive and/or help assess human resources needs in the following areas:
Employee Relations and Engagement, including Diversity
Compensation and Rewards
Compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, including patient care, safety, security, performance, etc.
Organizational Design; Manager and Employee Development
Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field strongly preferred License/Certification/Registration Requirements:
Strongly prefer HR certification (SHRM, PHR or SPHR) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months Experience:
2-5 years of HR experience is preferred. Healthcare and/or academic experience is preferred.
Knowledge of employment laws, principles and practices of human resources strongly preferred
Strong computer skills, knowledge of Lawson/Oracle HCM
Experience managing multiple priorities, thinking tactically as well as strategically, demonstrating objectivity, delivering results, and taking initiative
Ability to problem solve proactively and creatively and drive appropriate solutions
Must be flexible and work well under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Team player who builds trust quickly and can build collaborative working relationships with business leaders and partners

Experience presenting in front of small and large groups
Must possess analytical abilities to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation
Ability to lead through influence
Experience with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Objects, etc). Working knowledge of 11R information system such as PeopleSoft strongly preferred. Ability to use data and HR analytics to assist assigned business units with various initiatives.
