The Department of Communication at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for full-time, renewable-contract lecturer position in broadcasting and multi-media visual communication, beginning January 2018.
The lecturer may teach courses in videography, film/documentary production, web/multi-media design and production, as well as writing courses. We're seeking a professional visual multi-media generalist. The lecturer is also expected to engage in professional service to the university and the community. This is a new position, and the new faculty member will be able to develop his or her own niche within a growing, collegial department in an exciting growing city listed among the Best 15 Places to Live in Outside magazine in 2015.
The Department of Communication offers a flexible Bachelor of Arts degree to prepare graduates for the rapidly changing media and communication worlds of the 21st-century. Students receive a solid foundation in the liberal arts and sciences, as well as training in the skills and knowledge required for success in a wide variety of professions. Students are also given a foundation for success in an ethnically and culturally diverse world.
Graduates work in a variety of professions including print, broadcast and electronic journalism, public relations, advertising, broadcast production, web editing and design, and multi-media production and presentation. The communication degree at UTC also provides a solid foundation for further study in graduate or professional schools. Graduates have entered the University of Florida, Michigan State University, Ohio State University, University of South Florida, University of Texas, University of Mississippi Law Schools and others.
