Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, this position will direct, design and disseminate all marquee engagement efforts across the Division of Student Affairs. This includes overseeing the development, maintenance, appearance and functionality of all promotional and communication vehicles utilized to engage students in the co-curricular life of campus; including, but not limited to the Divisional website, social media, newsletters and engagement portals. This position will support departments throughout the Division in their adoption and adaptation of the Divisional visual identity and University identity and brand standards, in order to help integrate the programs, services and supports of Student Affairs.
Typically a bachelor's degree plus advanced coursework or certification in design and/or brand development. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of changes in the marketing and communications fields.
Minimum of three years' work experience in a professional setting with proven skills, knowledge and ability. Able to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a strong team member.
Knowledge and experience of appropriate software with demonstrated commitment to acquire additional knowledge in a self-directed manner.
Proven expertise in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat); web content management systems and tools (Wordpress, T4, Google Analytics/SiteImprove); and Microsoft Office.
Effective project planning and project management skills are required along with the ability to multi-task.
Strong written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability listen with the skill to gather critical, accurate information.
Ability to brainstorm, synthesize multiple concepts and think strategically.
Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
