This individual will lead and execute high-impact programs that advance UnitedHealth Group's employee engagement and business objectives. Required Qualifications:10+ years of experience in public relations/corporate communications, including internal and human resources communication, with proven staff mentorship and development expertiseUndergraduate degree or equivalent experienceProven writing and oral communication skills, ability to persuade and build consensus with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to perform communication needs assessments (with key stakeholder analysis) to align communications with the needs of the business and define audiences to be addressedExperience in developing communication content tailored to the specific medium and audience requirements (e.g., emails, speeches, scripts, blogs, web posts, talking points, briefing packets, preparation materials, backgrounders, training decks)Experience in providing counsel and support to all senior leaders regarding all communications-related opportunities and issues Preferred Qualifications:Establish a well-integrated, coordinated, collaborative, results-oriented function that is respected by the leadership team and enterprise communication colleaguesStrong influencing skills and ability to navigate across the organization (e.g., matrix structures, leadership, key stakeholders)Strategic thinking with experience developing a long-term plan and ensuring its executionDemonstrated experience building effective relationships with leadershipExecutive presence with the ability to gain credibility, rapport and support from key internal and external stakeholdersOutstanding writing skillsPersuasive and energetic communications ability with engaging and effective written communications.
