This position will be based in Washington, DC and may require travel to New York City and Albany, NY.
The External Affairs Associate will partner with the Director, External Affairs, Assistant Vice President, Government Affairs and the Director of Government Affairs to implement the University's policy agenda, which includes advocating for University initiatives and securing resources for priority programs. The position will assist with efforts on planning and advancing policy initiatives to promote NYU’s strategic and business activities. The position will support the mission of the NYU Brademas Center in the planning of policy events, contributing to the management of the Center internship program and related budget management. This position will be based in Washington, DC and may require travel to New York City and Albany, NY.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years' relevant professional level experience working in a governmental agency, working for an elected official, or working in the government relations office of a non-profit organization or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent writing and interpersonal skills and strong research abilities, technical skills and public speaking abilities are required. Ability to effectively interact with government officials. Ability to travel.
