The Assistant Director, Social Media Engagement will be responsible for the following:Social Media Strategy & Execution Work closely with Assistant Vice President, Digital Communications to develop a social media strategy for the University of Chicago that enhances the brand, increases visibility and deepens relationships and engagement with key audiencesEnsure online strategies are integrated with overall branding, messaging, earned media and public affairs activities, and aligned with strategic goals of the UniversityBuild and manage @UChicago social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Medium, YouTube and potentially additional channelsManage daily content and update weekly content calendar for all social channels Monitor all social media content and moderate discussions, as neededResearch and evaluate new platforms, drive innovation in development of new tactics, stay abreast of trends, and make recommendations to the leadership team on our presence in new mediums Build and maintain relationships with external constituents and appropriate social media influencers Explore ways for social engagement to build conversations that contribute to the academic and strategic goals of the University Develop reports using analytical tools, such as Hootsuite Enterprise, Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Zignal Labs, etc. Hire, supervise, and mentor junior staff and student internsServe as a social media advisor for communicators across campus and manage UChicagoSocial, a cross-campus social media councilDevelop standards and best practices for content management, channel creation and management; create and maintain standards for employee engagement on external social and digital University channels. Community Management Listen and engage in relevant social discussion about UChicago, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing customers and leads and from brand new audiences that don't yet know UChicagoMaintain Google Maps/Places information for UChicago entitiesManage TripAdvisor pages, including responding to reviews and FAQ'sUpdate and/or hire freelance Wikipedia editors to maintain UChicago informationMaintain accurate information for other online tourism/location-based websitesMaintain and develop content for the visit and architecture websitesDevelop visit and architecture website analytics reportsSupport Web Services on the marketing and promotion of the UChicago Mobile App Visitor Center ManagementTrain and oversee Information Center student internsManage and respond to firstname.lastname@example.org emailsUpdate visit and architecture website contentTrack Information Center visitor questions and other metrics
