Under the general direction of the Director of Annual Funds Leadership Giving, the Leadership Gifts officer is responsible for developing philanthropic connections through engagement, cultivation of an assigned portfolio of approximately 300 households. The emphasis of the position is on cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts to Cornell's 22 Annual Funds at the $5,000 to $100,000 range.
Bachelor's degree, with 3 or more years' experience in Development, Alumni Affairs, Public Affairs, Marketing, Sales or Public Relations. Willing to travel extensively to connect with donors and potential donors. Knowledge of the principles and practices that underlie individual giving. Excellent relationship building skills and an ability to represent the University effectively to a diverse group of alumni. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to multi-task and have close attention to detail. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume office.
Experience with annual fund campaigns or short-cycle campaign fundraising preferred. Knowledge of Cornell preferred. Familiarity with PeopleSoft and OBIEE reporting tool preferred.
