Reporting to the Manager of Media Services, the Media Services Technician provides technical and audio/visual support to the HKS community which includes faculty, students, staff and guests. This position will coordinate and provide a broad range of technical functions connected to the production, set up, and implementation of media equipment and productions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and provide support to a range of technical AV functions for classes or events held on campus.
Collaboratively work with a team of experienced media services workers
Provide instruction to faculty, staff, students and guests in the use of AV technology. Propose technical options that meet the end users desired goals.
Provide AV technical support for walk-ups, via the phone, or on-location.
Proactively work with teaching teams to ensure effective use of technology in the classroom.
Operate and maintain audio-visual equipment including, but not limited to, projectors, control systems, matrix and routing switchers, video-conferencing, video capture and sound reinforcement systems;
Set up and breakdown equipment; ensure it is operational to the extent required by the end user.
Participate in scheduling and monitoring the systems used to capture and encode course video recordings.
Troubleshoot a wide range of technological issues. Maintain, repair, replace and install equipment supported by the department in rooms on campus, as assigned by the Media Services Team Lead.
Review media services requests and perform a variety of administrative duties to assist with scheduling: reply to messages, confirm requests, and follow up on incomplete or inaccurate data in requests.
Must be able to accurately follow standard media services policies and procedures.
Occasionally required to work outside of normal scheduled hours

Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
College degree preferred
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate with a diverse constituency
Demonstrated experience with Audio/Visual equipment and knowledge of EMS scheduling system preferred
Familiarity with video conferencing hardware and software.
Knowledge of current computer hardware and operating systems; Basic understanding of network concepts
Strong aptitude to learn quickly learn and retain technical skills and institutional knowledge
Ability to successfully manage many simultaneous work items of changing priority
Strong ownership, accountability, and attention to detail in all work efforts
Industry recognized technical certifications preferred
Background in higher-education and/or large corporate environments preferred
Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50lbs with no restrictions
