Reporting to the Director of Content Development, and working with colleagues in the Office of University Communications and communications professionals within the schools and units within the University, the Multiplatform Content Manager takes a leading role in developing content ideas and executing those ideas from planning to completion. This position will also implement the university's communications and public relations strategy by researching, planning, creating, editing, organizing and posting digital and non-digital content that effectively tells the University story, ensures stories reach key constituencies of the University, and positions the University as a world-class research institution. As a senior content professional, the Multiplatform Content Manager serves as a key resource to others on campus with both digital and non-digital communications, establishes and maintains standards for digital products, manages social media platforms and their communities, and employs creative and innovative ways to tell stories. The multiplatform content manager will develop and manage projects from start to finish, sometimes working independently and other times with a team. Using data analytics, s/he will evaluate the effectiveness of various tools and strategies.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Must have experience as a communications professional with a strong background in producing compelling content.
Must have strong communications skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across campus to best position the University according to its strategic goals.
Must have experience with developing and delivery of compelling content across multiple platforms, including photo, video, digital, and graphic design.
Must have experience with social media and knowledge of best practices and concepts.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public affairs, or a related field.
A minimum of 4-5 years in roles related to public relations, content development and / or creative management.
