Reporting to our Director of Membership, Marketing & Communications, you will provide leadership for developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing plans for all products, services, publications, public affairs, and our website. While you’ll have the support of our fantastic Marketing Coordinator, you will be expected to work hands-on with all marketing projects and initiatives, including personally producing marketing collateral. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Development of marketing plans to grow dues and non-dues revenue streams relative to membership, publications, journal subscriptions, annual convention and exposition, and other professional development activities
Market research, data collection, analysis, and reporting of such results for informed decision making
Creative development (including copy development and art direction) and execution of organization branding through promotional materials and activities ensuring consistent application of branding standards across organization; creative development and production of all print and digital collateral (including but not limited to advocacy, membership, event, and sponsorship materials; web and social media content; etc.)
Direction of integrated marketing and media functions in support of Association initiatives, products and services
Along with a high degree of initiative, a collaborative work style and keen business acumen, you'll need these qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing marketing initiatives in an association or the education field, including experience working on marketing efforts in sales, advertising, membership, and/or event management
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or similar discipline, MBA a plus.
Experience in education, special education, and/or disability issues is strongly preferred
Experience with advertising, direct marketing, and database marketing as well as experience in a consultative, relationship building, service oriented environment is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to speak in public effectively
Superior interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with CEC staff on projects
Creative ability and resourceful problem-solving skills; ability to multi-task and adapt to changing needs and priorities
Ability to develop spreadsheets, track budgets and analyze data
Proficiency with databases (A2Z and iMIS); Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); email communications (Informz), and content management system
