Retirement Plans Analyst (1702002) – Florham Park, NJ
This position will support the administration of U.S. and Canada retirement benefit plans and associated data, systems, and controls, including approximately 30 qualified and nonqualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans encompassing 15,000 active employees and 25,000 retirees. The plans hold related trust assets of $3 billion and total annual benefit payments of $250 million.
The individual will support the regulatory compliance of U.S. and Canada retirement plans, including external audits and employee/participant communications. In addition, the role will aid in performing data analyses for acquisitions and divestitures, integration arrangements, and resolution of employee and retiree claims. S/he will coordinate with an outside vendor and BASF businesses on the delivery of Employee Financial Wellness Education initiatives.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Support appropriate administration and controls over retirement benefit programs through employee data and transaction analyses and reconciliations and, where necessary, identify needed corrections of data, contribution and recordkeeping errors.
Perform maintenance of retirement benefit plan and HRIS/Payroll systems and controls, and identify any needed improvements.
Assist external auditors on performance of plan audits through providing of requested participant information.
Arrange distribution of required retirement plan communications in compliance with government regulations.
Maintain mergers and acquisitions activities and other initiatives with ad hoc reporting and analyses of employee data, and support integration of employees into or out of BASF retirement plans, including distribution of employee communications.
Perform research and analyses of employee and retiree claims, and report results.
Process benefit plan invoices and funding requests, and track annual budgeted plan related expenses.
Coordinate with outside vendor and businesses as needed on delivery of Employee Financial Wellness Education meetings.
Execute special projects relative to retirement plans, as needed.

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources and/or benefit plan administration, or at least 4 years of progressive HR work experience without a degree.
Familiarity with 401(k) and pension plan design principles and operations.
Strong business acumen combined with organizational, analytical, financial, and project management skills.
Working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
