The Public Relations/Senior Communications Associate plays a significant role in conceptualizing, creating, executing and delivering a strategic and measurable communications program that enhances the visibility and reputation of the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working to elevate the school's brand through active and sustained engagement with media, supporting the Assistant Dean for Communications to advance the school's initiatives, and positioning the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health as a "go to" resource for all things public health. The incumbent has highly skilled writing and editing of content experience, for digital and traditional communication platforms, focusing on school initiatives, faculty research, student training and community impact programs all of which are done at a fast pace and presented to the media, the public, and a larger global audience.
In addition to media relations, the Public Relations/Senior Communications Associate's responsibilities include co-managing the school's magazine, helping to shape the editorial direction of the magazine, working with the Assistant Dean for Communications to oversee the magazine's Editorial Board.

Demonstrated exceptional writing and editing skills, including experience in writing digital and traditional communications (engaging stories, press releases, news alerts, etc.) that are accurate, creative and results-focused.
Demonstrated experience and proven success in developing and defining strategic goals for digital and traditional communications exposure.
Demonstrated experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, with minimal supervision, including strong organizational skills to provide accurate deliverables, on-time, by deadline.
Willingness to be on-call after hours to field inquiries from reporters on deadline.
Demonstrated and extensive knowledge of best practices for media relations, public information sharing and crisis communications.
Demonstrated and extensive knowledge best practices for web and social media.
