The College of Law Library at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Law Library Director and Librarian. This position is responsible for overall leadership, program development, administration, resource management, and strategic planning of the Law Library. The Director delegates responsibility to several full-time librarians and classified staff members.
The Director's major areas of responsibility are (1) communications and public relations; (2) strategic planning; (3) leadership and oversight of staff; (4) development and oversight of the collection; (5) oversight of Law Library services to faculty, students, and the public; (6) cooperation with and assistance to other College units, such as student services, development, career services, alumni relations, the West Virginia Law Review, and clinics; (7) collaboration with law faculty to design and teach legal research courses; and (8) personal research and scholarly writing.
